The third season of RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under is about to get an injection of Aussie pub-punk energy.
Amy Taylor charismatic frontwoman for globe-conquering Aussie punks Amyl and the Sniffers has let slip the news that she will be joining the judging panel of the show when season three lands on STAN on the 28th of July.
A clearly very stoked Taylor shared the news via Instagram.
Taylor will be joined as a guest judge by none other than Queen touring vocalist and pop idol, Adam Lambert. It's pretty heady company for a Mullumbimby girl made big, the RuPaul gig is another example of how Amy and her band continue to SLAY, with Amyl & The Sniffers having played pretty much every major festival in the world over the last five years, including standout performances on the recent Smashing Pumpkins curated The World Is A Vampire and supported rock royalty Foo Fighters.
Winners of the Best Rock Album award at the 2019 ARIA's, their most recent record, the Dan Luscombe (The Drones) produced and Nick Launay mixed (Nick Cave, Idols) Comfort To Me set the charts alight landing at #2 in Australia and hit the top 25 in various territories including the UK and the USA. That traction earned them mainstream media attention around the world, leading to performances on US and UK TV and huge slots at Coachella and Glastonbury.
Having already been dubbed a "true rockstar" by Billy Corgan, Taylor's appearance on RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under will give her the chance to further grow her legend.
