In yet another crushing loss for music in 2018, Oli Herbert, founder and guitarist of the metalcore band All That Remains has passed away "unexpectedly as a result of an accident which occurred on the property of his home."
The band confirmed his death in an official statement which reads:
On behalf of Oli’s wife and family I can confirm that Oli Herbert passed away yesterday unexpectedly as a result of an accident which occurred on the property of his home. He was 44 years old. No further details are being released at this time. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced once that information is available. The family requests for privacy during this time but does wish to express their appreciation to fans worldwide for the outpouring of condolences.
His body was reportedly found in a pond near his Connecticut home, though the passing is not being treated as suspicious.
Herbert co-founded All That Remains with vocalist Philip Labonte in 1998 and had written and recorded all nine albums with the band, including their next album Victim of the New Disease which will come out posthumously on November 9 - just three weeks away.
It's a sad day to say goodbye to yet another ultra-talented and dedicated person. RIP, Oli.
Listen to All That Remains now.
