It's insane to think that New Zealand metal trio Alien Weaponry are all under the age of 20, given that they've already surpassed peers twice their age by touring with Ministry, performing at Wacken Open Air as well as winning 'Best Rock Artist' at New Zealand's national music awards in 2018!
And now they can add another accolade to their name, because the readers of Finnish metal magazine Tuonela have voted their debut record Tu as album of the decade!
The boys beat out Tool's Fear Inoculum and Gojira's Magma for the top spot, which is a massive and deserving accomplishment. Between killer tunes, leading huge crowds in a traditional Haka Dance and a fantastic live show, these guys are absolutely killing it.
Drummer Henry de Jong said of the achievement: "We knew we had a bit of a following in Scandinavia, but this is insane!".
Congrats to the band and here's to the next decade of Alien Weaponry!
