So without fear or favour, here are is our Friday Fire: Five New Tracks We're Feeling This Friday.
RedHook - Jabberwocky
Eora/Sydney alt-rock force RedHook have returned with their most gut-wrenching single to date, ‘Jabberwocky’, produced by Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly) and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Underoath, Paramore). Jabberwocky is an intensely personal song that addresses vocalist Emmy Mack’s experience of being sexually assaulted while on RedHook’s first ever overseas tour. Menacing guitars and frenetic synths charge beneath Mack’s powerful vocals, building into a psychotic dubstep-inspired breakdown before the vulnerable chorus lyrics take centre stage.
Alexisonfire - Sans Soleil.
The latest single from Otherness, their first full-length album in over 13 years. Sans Soleil features earnest and deeply heartfelt lyrics penned by Wade MacNeil, with an impeccable vocal performance from Dallas Green.
Coheed And Cambria - Comatose
The final single to be lifted from their forthcoming feverishly anticipated 10th full-length album, Vaxis II: A Window Of The Waking Mind, Comatose once again showcases that when it comes to combining creativity, complexity and catchiness, Coheed And Cambria are in a class of their own. Comatose comes accompanied by a lyric video which put into focus the depth of storytelling the band are capable of.
Psycroptic- Rend Asunder
More than two decades deep into their existence, Psycroptic have announced their eighth studio album, Divine Council. Alongside the album announcement, the Tassie extreme metal group have shared the menacing lead single, Rend Asunder. Rend Asunder showcases exactly why Pyscroptic are renowned across the globe as extreme metal elites. Get your eyes on the accompanying music video for the track, directed by Michael Rankine and filmed at Oi Studios in Tasmania.
LIAR -HYSTERIA
Melbourne alternative metal group LIAR dropped HYSTERIA, featuring trap metal artist Xen0christ. Mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc (Void Of Vision, Alpha Wolf, Polaris), the single is ablaze with dark and violent undertones influenced heavily by artists to the likes of Ghostmane, Scarlxrd and $uicideboy$. HYSTERIA stays true to the metalcore sound that LIAR introduced with their debut single DECLINE while also pushing their boundaries to meld hip-hop and trap elements.
